On January 18, 2022, at the UN Headquarters in New York, United Nations High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Miguel Moratinos discussed with Project Aladdin’s Leah Pisar and Abe Radkin a joint program to counter extremism and hate through an intercultural and interfaith alliance. 

UNAOC High Representative Miguel Moratinos told Project Aladdin’s representatives that there is a close affinity between the aims and actions of the two organizations and that a formal partnership would make the existing cooperation more effective. UNAOC and Project Aladdin will work together to forge a broad-based intercultural and interfaith alliance to fight “weaponized hate” and extremism, with a particular focus on young people and religious establishments.
