Bahrain’s King Hamad receives Project Aladdin’s delegation

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain received Project Aladdin’s delegation led by Leah Pisar and Eric de Rothschild and accompanied by French Ambassador Jérôme Cauchard in the Royal Palace in Manama on November 15, 2021. The delegation included Aladdin’s Vice-President Bariza Khiari and Executive Director Abe Radkin, advisory board members Joel Herzog, President of the Swiss Friends of Yad Vashem, and Ylias Akbaraly, President of Thomson Sipromad Group, as well as Frederik Paulsen, Honorary Chairman of Ferring Pharmaceuticals. 

King Hamad spoke about the history of Bahrain as a land of religious and ethnic diversity and tolerance in the region. The King gave his blessing to joint initiatives between Project Aladdin and Bahraini institutions aimed at promoting tolerance, peace, and rapprochement among cultures, particularly through sports and educational programs for young people. Members of the delegation expressed appreciation for the leadership shown by Bahrain in the rapprochement of cultures and protection of cultural heritage. 

His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the National Security Council and the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs; Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court; Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence, and Dr. Sheikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) and Undersecretary for International Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in the meeting.
