Project Aladdin is producing a twelve-book series that traces the millennial history of Jewish-Muslim relations in the Middle East and North Africa. The Shared History books are written by respected historians from different cultures. The aim is to raise awareness, particularly among young Jews and Muslims, of this important history, with its long periods of peaceful coexistence and sporadic conflict. The books are published in partnership with the Tallandier publishing house and cover twelve regions/countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel-Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Syria-Lebanon, the Arabian Peninsula, and medieval Spain. Project Aladdin has been working with several Ministries of Education and UNESCO to facilitate the use of the books as a pedagogical resource in history curricula.
